About The Position

The Khoury College of Computer Sciences at Northeastern University is seeking to hire multiple tenure-track/tenured faculty members at the Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks, starting in the academic year 2027-28 or 2028-29. The primary tenure home will be within the Khoury College of Computer Sciences, with the possibility of a joint appointment in another Northeastern college, to be determined in collaboration with the selected candidate. Academic rank for Associate and Full Professor positions will be determined by the candidate's experience and qualifications, demonstrating a history of teaching and scholarly excellence. The college is interested in candidates across all areas of computer science, particularly those whose research aligns with specific sub-areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Physical AI, Human-Centered AI, AI and Software Engineering, and AI Safety, Security, and Alignment. The application review process will commence on November 15, 2026, and continue throughout the academic year until the search is concluded.

Requirements

Ph.D., or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science or a related field from an accredited institution by the employment start date.
Demonstrated commitment to fostering diverse and inclusive environments.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting experiential learning.
For Associate Professor appointments, at least five years of related experience is required by employment start date.
For Full Professor level appointments, at least eight years of related experience is required by employment start date.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in AI, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and related fields.
Mentoring students and postdoctoral researchers.
Conducting an independent research program that attracts external funding.
Service to the college, university, and the profession.
