About The Position

The BCM Student and House Staff Mental Health Service is responsible for providing mental health services to all eligible medical students, graduate students, and health profession students. This part-time position reports to the Director of the Student and House Staff Mental Health Service, Dr. Heather Goodman.

Requirements

• Minimum Education: PhD, PsyD or LCSW-S
• Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and possess knowledge of therapeutic modalities employed by team members
• Must have a current unrestricted license to practice in the state of Texas.

Nice To Haves

• Experience at a health science university working with biomedical students and trainees

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care responsibilities include evaluation, time-limited individual and couples psychotherapy and assistance with referrals to the community when warranted.
• Provide documentation including letters, treatment summaries/records and oral communication when requested (e.g. for appeals, leaves of absence, transfer of care and to the Texas Medical Board if indicated.)
