Assistant Professor of Dental Medicine
About The Position

As an Orthodontic Residency Assistant Professor, you will be instrumental in educating future orthodontic specialists. This role involves advanced didactic, clinical, and scholarly instruction, working closely with residents to develop their expertise in diagnosis, treatment planning, interdisciplinary care, and evidence-based orthodontic practice. You will provide mentorship and guidance throughout their educational journey, making it an ideal position for an orthodontic professional passionate about teaching, patient care, and advancing the specialty through education, research, and service.
Requirements
- DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental school or equivalent.
- Specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from a CODA accredited US or Canadian dental school.
- Must be eligible for licensure in Nevada at the time of application and receive licensure within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities
- Shape the future of orthodontics by teaching and mentoring residents in both classroom and clinical settings.
- Help residents develop the skills, confidence, and clinical judgment needed to become successful specialists.
- Guide learners through their training, assess their progress, and support their journey toward clinical competency and professional excellence.
- Oversee and provide orthodontic treatment in a collaborative clinical environment while modeling evidence-based, patient-centered care.
- Integrate biomedical sciences, current research, and specialty best practices into learning experiences.
- Utilize emerging technologies, specialty-specific certifications, and modern treatment approaches to support education and patient outcomes.
