About The Position

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at University of Louisville Medical Center is seeking a full-time BE/BC fellowship-trained Orthopaedic Trauma surgeon with a focus in high energy trauma. The division currently includes four full-time Orthopaedic Trauma surgeons and four Advanced Practice Providers. This is an excellent opportunity to join a regional referral center with a Level 1 Trauma program. The qualified candidate will be a full-time faculty member of the University of Louisville Medical Center and hold an academic rank within the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at University of Louisville School of Medicine.

Requirements

  • Medical degree – MD or DO.
  • BE/BC in Orthopaedic Surgery.
  • Fellowship training in Orthopaedic Trauma surgery required, focus in high energy periarticular fractures including pelvis and acetabulum.
  • Excellent patient care abilities and interest in teaching
  • Holds or qualifies for licensure to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous NIH/DoD grant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Active participation in clinical research, including leading projects with residents and fellows.
  • Participation in the adult orthopaedic trauma call coverage schedule at two different hospitals (Level 1 and outpatient medical center).
  • Participation and experience in OTA regional and national meetings.
