The Kenan-Flagler Business School (KFBS) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Professor of the Practice in Finance. This dual-role position involves teaching undergraduate and MBA courses within the Finance area, specifically in the MBA Energy Concentration, and serving as the Director of the Energy Center. The Energy Center, founded in 2014, focuses on programming and research in energy public policy and the broader energy sector. It collaborates with the Energy Concentration, which offers 12 energy-focused courses in the full-time MBA program. The Center has a history of organizing conferences, publishing reports, supporting student research, and contributing to the UNC Clean Tech Summit. A primary goal for the Center is to foster the growth of Kenan-Flagler's Energy MBA program, known for its 'full value chain' approach and use of practitioner faculty. Energy-focused students constitute about 15% of the full-time MBA program. The Center aids this growth through student recruitment, internship and fellowship opportunities, and career placement assistance. The Director, as Professor of the Practice, will contribute to teaching, student recruitment, engagement, and career placement. The Energy Center is self-funded and managed with support from an Advisory Board, possessing an operating surplus and an emerging endowment. The Director will lead the Advisory Board, advance programmatic initiatives, enhance research and industry engagement, and spearhead fundraising efforts to ensure the Center's continued growth and sustainability.
