About The Position

Wittenberg University's Nursing Department is seeking to hire a full-time Professor of Practice faculty member to begin on January 1, 2027. This role involves teaching assigned courses, managing clinical experiences, engaging in scholarly activity, and contributing to departmental and university governance. The position emphasizes teaching excellence within a liberal arts and sciences context and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Requirements

A Master's in Nursing is required.
An active, unencumbered, unrestricted Ohio Registered Nurse license or eligibility for an Ohio RN license in Ohio.
Advanced practice nurses must hold an active Certificate of Authority.
Two years of experience in undergraduate teaching and advising in nursing.
A commitment to excellence in teaching and learning consistent with the University's mission and goals.
A strong commitment and interest in teaching in the liberal arts and sciences context.
Must be eligible to work in the U.S. (Wittenberg University participates in E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

An earned doctorate in nursing (PhD, DNP, or DNS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver assigned courses, which may include Pediatric, Medical/Surgical Nursing, or Critical Care, with the expectation of teaching across the curriculum.
Demonstrate effective teaching as evidenced by student evaluations and peer reviews.
Teach 32 credit hours in each academic year.
Serve as Course Coordinator for Nursing Clinical Courses, managing clinical/laboratory experiences for cohorts.
Teach in the clinical setting as required.
Engage in scholarly activity in nursing, evaluated according to the model recommended by The American Association of Colleges of Nursing, encompassing discovery, teaching, application, and integration.
Contribute to nursing program governance and administrative efforts to improve program quality.
Serve as a member of Department of Nursing committees.
Represent the Department of Nursing within Wittenberg University committees.
Fulfill Professional and Ethical Responsibilities of the Faculty.
