The Department of Ophthalmology at Stanford University is seeking to fill positions for several academic board-certified or board-eligible ophthalmologists or optometrists. These positions are in the general clinical areas of ophthalmology as well as the sub-specialty areas of Glaucoma, Uveitis, Neuro-Ophthalmology, Retina/Vitreoretina, Pediatrics, Oculoplastics, Cornea, and Optometry. The roles are to join the Department as Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, based on candidate qualifications, in either the University Medical Line (UML) or Clinician Educator Line (CE). We are particularly interested in candidates with an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree including OD, in a related field. For the University Medical Line, the major criteria for appointment are excellence in clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service. For the Clinician Educator Line, the major criteria are excellence in clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship. Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Specific subspecialty searches are detailed below, each requiring fellowship completion, board certification (or eligibility/in-process), and a demonstrated record of or commitment to clinical teaching and/or scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine.
