About The Position

Monash Law is seeking an exceptional and collegial academic leader to join their inclusive and collaborative team. This Professorial (Level E) role offers a unique opportunity to influence and develop the Faculty’s curriculum and research training programs, shaping the future of educational research and practice. The position demands a special responsibility in shaping policy development and academic excellence within the Faculty, the University, and the broader scholarly and general community. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of the Faculty’s mission, driving innovative research and fostering new research collaborations that align with the Faculty’s strategic goals. Monash Law is renowned for its innovative and inclusive approach, strong professional and community connections, and unwavering commitment to justice. They are a leading, globally engaged Australian law school offering a rich, experiential legal education with strong partnerships with the legal profession and industry. The Faculty operates from seven locations across three continents and has a commitment to the community reflected in its three community legal centres and Melbourne CBD Law Chambers.

Requirements

  • Ability to contribute to 'core' teaching required for accreditation purposes (the ‘Priestley 11’ subjects).
  • Interest from legal scholars who take all and any approaches to their research (doctrinal, historical, comparative, philosophical, socio-legal, empirical and so on).
  • Current CV (maximum 10 pages).
  • Cover letter (maximum 4 pages) outlining interest in joining Monash Law and alignment with the Key Selection Criteria.
  • Set out how you would contribute to our ‘core’ teaching (the ‘Priestley 11’ subjects) and/or how you would contribute to our clinical program.
  • Satisfactory completion of all pre-employment and/or background checks.
