Open-Rank Professor in Supply Chain Management
About The Position
The Supply Chain & Information Systems (SCIS) Department of the Smeal College of Business at The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for tenure-track position(s) at the open rank professor level for a Fall 2027 start date. Salary is competitive. Candidates must have a PhD degree in supply chain management or related field by the appointment start date. Those who are in the final stages of completing a PhD program will be considered for appointments as an Assistant Professor. A strong commitment to research and teaching excellence is expected. Candidates at the Associate or Full Professor level should have a demonstrated record of high-quality research and teaching commensurate with rank, as well as a sufficient number of publications in high-quality journals and a demonstrated significant impact of their work on the field. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active research program, perform undergraduate and graduate teaching, supervise graduate students, and engage in service activities. The SCIS Department comprises a vibrant, research-active faculty with research and teaching interests that traverse the end-to-end supply chain and includes business logistics, sourcing, manufacturing, and service operations. The department offers degree programs in supply chain management, business analytics & information systems, and AI and Business Transformation. We seek outstanding candidates with expertise in supply chain management with an emphasis on business logistics that would complement the faculty with high-quality research and teaching in student-centered and collaborative learning environments. Requirements
