About The Position

EXP is seeking an environmental professional specializing in contaminated site rehabilitation to contribute to complex environmental characterization and site rehabilitation projects. In response to the growth of our rehabilitation activities, we aim to strengthen our expertise in in situ treatment to offer our clients innovative, high-performance solutions tailored to their environmental and financial objectives. The ideal candidate possesses recognized expertise in in situ treatment technologies as well as in environmental characterization of soils and groundwater, and secondary characterization (Phase III). This individual will act as a technical specialist for multidisciplinary teams and will assist clients in developing rehabilitation strategies adapted to environmental, regulatory, and financial challenges. Flexible work location – The individual can be based at the EXP office of their choice, depending on their geographical proximity and the team's operational needs. A hybrid work model is offered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in in situ treatment.
  • Significant experience in contaminated soil characterization.
  • Recognized expertise in the design and implementation of in situ treatment projects.
  • Excellent knowledge of Quebec environmental regulations.
  • Experience in project management and client relations.
  • Ability to interpret complex data and propose innovative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French.

Nice To Haves

  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) or the Ordre des géologues du Québec (OGQ).
  • Certification or specialized training in soil and groundwater rehabilitation technologies.
  • Experience in industrial, petroleum, municipal, or real estate redevelopment projects.
  • Established network with environmental industry stakeholders in Quebec.
  • Experience in business development and technical supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and carry out Phase II and III environmental characterization projects.
  • Design and supervise soil investigation programs.
  • Interpret environmental data and assess the extent of contamination.
  • Develop management and rehabilitation strategies for contaminated sites.
  • Conduct secondary characterizations to precisely delineate the environmental liability or impacts of a property.
  • Evaluate the technical and economic feasibility of rehabilitation solutions.
  • Design, supervise, and optimize in situ treatment systems such as: in situ chemical oxidation (ISCO); in situ chemical reduction (ISCR); bioremediation; amendment injection; groundwater treatment; multiphase extraction and other rehabilitation technologies.
  • Prepare work plans, technical quotes, and expert reports.
  • Manage relationships with clients, contractors, laboratories, and regulatory authorities.
  • Participate in the preparation of service offers and business development.
  • Act as a mentor to less experienced professionals and technicians.
