About The Position

Alliant is a growing engineering and consulting firm seeking a Professional Transportation Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to play a lead role in the design of major transportation projects, utilize technical expertise in roadway geometry design, compute design calculations, and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates. The position also involves management of a team of engineers and technicians, resolving design issues with innovative solutions, checking design work, engaging in professional development, and assisting with work scopes, budgets, and schedules. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • 4+ years of highway design experience
  • Strong working technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Technical expertise using Microstation and GEOPAK on transportation projects
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

  • Play a lead role in the design of major Transportation projects.
  • Utilize technical expertise to design roadway geometry, compute design calculations, and prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Apply management skills to lead a team of graduate engineers and technicians to deliver projects.
  • Resolve design issues with proactive and innovative solutions.
  • Check design work per Alliant's Design Quality Management Plan.
  • Engage in professional development activities to grow your client network.
  • Assist with the preparation of work scopes, budgets, and schedules.
