About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced employment lawyer to join a market-leading Employment, HR and Immigration team as a Professional Support Lawyer. This role will play a key part in shaping how knowledge is shared, legal changes are responded to, and high-quality advice is delivered to clients. The role is central to ensuring lawyers are equipped with the right tools, insight, and training to remain responsive, accurate, and ahead of the curve in the rapidly changing field of employment law. While preference is for the role to be Cheltenham-based, it can be based in any HCR office. Hybrid arrangements and part-time or flexible working patterns will be considered.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in UK employment law.
  • Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills.
  • A genuine interest in keeping up to date with legal developments.
  • Confidence presenting and delivering training to colleagues and clients.
  • A collaborative mindset and the confidence to work independently.

Nice To Haves

  • An interest in legal technology, innovation, and improving ways of working would be a real advantage.
  • May already be working as a PSL / Knowledge Lawyer, or be a technically strong Employment Solicitor looking to move into a professional support role.

Responsibilities

  • Stay ahead of developments in employment law, case law, and legislation, turning change into clear, practical guidance for the team.
  • Take ownership and evolve the team’s precedents, templates, and know-how, keeping resources accurate, relevant, and accessible.
  • Design and deliver high-impact training, support CPD and inductions, and help drive consistency and technical confidence across the team.
  • Produce client alerts and thought leadership, support seminars, and work closely with colleagues to strengthen the team’s reputation as trusted advisers.
  • Continually look for smarter ways of working, using technology, automation, and AI to improve efficiency and knowledge sharing.
  • Potentially undertake limited fee-earning or client work, depending on experience and interest.
