About The Position

UPMC Presbyterian Adult Acute Care (8N) is seeking a Limited Part-Time Professional Staff Nurse to join their team. This is a part-time limited position for experienced RNs. UPMC Presbyterian is a Magnet-designated teaching hospital and a center for cutting-edge research and education. The 8 North unit is a 17-bed medical-surgical unit providing care to patients with respiratory, cardiac, and infectious conditions. Nurses on this unit collaborate with physicians, social workers, and care managers during daily rounds to ensure patient-centered care. The unit offers a fast-paced environment and a supportive team culture, ideal for nurses looking to grow their clinical skills and make a meaningful impact.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience required.
  • An Associates Degree in Nursing, BSN, or MSN is required.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to provide care and interact with all ages of patients, understanding the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.
  • Establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with patients, families, executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, and other departments.
  • Work productively and effectively in an environment with changing priorities that require specialized skills.
  • Think critically to analyze and problem-solve to deliver the best patient care, using sound clinical judgment.
  • Understand, apply, and champion nursing best practices.
  • Ability to work productively and effectively within complex environments and handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required based on AHA standards within 30 days of hire.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) or TPP (Temporary Practice Permit) licensure in the state where the facility is located or a multistate license from a participating NLC state.
  • Graduate nurses must complete the licensure examination within SIX MONTHS of hire or within one year of graduation, whichever comes first.
