This role serves as the lead behavior specialist for the Regional Intervention Program (RIP), a parent-implemented, professionally-supported program for young children and their families facing challenging behaviors. The compensation starts at $16.00 per hour, with potential to start at up to $17.67 per hour based on relevant experience.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or other mental health related field, OR four years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Knowledge and experience in working with young behavior disordered children and their families.
Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.

Graduates of the RIP program preferred.
Experience working with young children and their families is preferred.
Education equivalent to graduation from a standard high school, successful completion of a Regional Intervention Program recognized by the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and two years of work experience in mental health, child development, social work, or other related acceptable field (as a substitution for high school education requirement).

Responsibilities

Support program operation by scheduling activities, empowering families to use learned skills, conducting treatment conferences, collecting and analyzing data from observations, maintaining rater reliability for model fidelity, providing coaching and support to families, reviewing intake and program paperwork, troubleshooting problems, and assisting with tasks of absent staff.
Maintain case responsibility for assigned families, including facilitating the enrollment process, preparing and monitoring data on child behavior, writing classroom behavior programs, tracking family progress, entering data for reporting, writing or reviewing treatment plans/Family Objectives plans and reports, participating in debriefing and case staffing meetings, documenting treatment progress and plans, providing consultation to childcare or school, referring for additional services, and providing liaison services to graduated families.
Actively participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, complete TDMHSAS trainings, attend in-service trainings and community presentations at RIP, and participate in goal-oriented action groups.
Perform miscellaneous administrative duties as assigned.
