Professional Practice Consultant - Education (Primary/Secondary)
About The Position
The Faculty of Education is seeking a qualified Primary/Secondary teacher to join the Professional Practice Consultant team. This role is responsible for supporting students' progress in professional practice and their readiness within teacher education courses at undergraduate and graduate levels, both before, during, and after placements. Reporting to the Professional Practice Manager, the consultant will leverage their professional practice and knowledge to support the Faculty’s professional experience. This dynamic role suits someone who is relationship-focused and can collaborate constructively with diverse parties to ensure a quality experience for students and external partners.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in the field of Primary and/or Secondary teaching.
- Extensive and relevant professional experience.
- Understanding of relevant professional standards for teaching.
- Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and communication skills.
- Excellent use of technology including software packages such as Google Suite.
Responsibilities
- Supporting students’ progress in professional practice.
- Ensuring students' readiness within teacher education courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels prior to, during and post placement.
- Supporting the Faculty’s professional experience through an internal focus on student development.
- Supporting partner engagement through an external focus on partner support.
