About The Position

This role involves performing exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures. The painter will be responsible for selecting and using the correct tools for various tasks, applying coatings, preparing and protecting surfaces, repairing imperfections, and maintaining a clean work area and equipment. There is an opportunity to move to Florida and work on high-profile projects.

Requirements

• Knowledge of selecting and using correct tools for various tasks.
• Experience in applying varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, caulk, and other coatings.
• Ability to mask and prepare surfaces for coatings.
• Skill in cleaning and maintaining equipment.
• Ability to repair imperfections.
• Experience in exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures.
• Proficiency in preparing and protecting work surfaces with drop cloths and masking.
• Ability to maintain a clean work area.
• Experience in loading, unloading, preparing, and cleaning job site materials and tools.
• Capability to provide quality work and take corrective action.
• Experience with setup and execution of tasks on scaffolding and ladders.
• Communication skills to report surface conditions to supervisor.
• Efficient use of materials and resources.

Responsibilities

• Select and use correct tools for various tasks, including brush, roller, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, caulk gun, spray equipment, air compressor, hand tools, ladder, and scaffolding.
• Apply varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, caulk, and other coatings.
• Mask and prepare surfaces for coatings.
• Clean and maintain equipment by removing all traces of paint.
• Repair imperfections.
• Perform exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures professionally.
• Prepare and protect work surfaces with drop cloths and masking.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Load, unload, prepare, and clean job site materials and tools.
• Provide quality work and take corrective action for conditions that may affect job quality.
• Set up and execute tasks on scaffolding and ladders.
• Communicate to foreman/supervisor if surfaces to be painted are not in proper condition for a quality finish.
• Use materials and resources efficiently.
