About The Position
This role is responsible for performing exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, and structures in a professional manner. The painter will be responsible for the application of varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, caulk, and other coatings, as well as preparing and protecting work surfaces. This position requires the ability to select and use the correct tools for various tasks, maintain equipment, repair imperfections, and ensure the work area and job site materials are clean and organized. Effective communication with supervisors regarding surface conditions and efficient use of materials are also key aspects of this role.
Requirements
- Selecting and knowing how to use the correct tools for various tasks
- Brush, roller, striping machine, taping and masking equipment, caulk gun, spray equipment, air compressor, hand tools, ladder, scaffolding, etc.
Responsibilities
- Application of varnish, polyurethane, primer, paint, caulk and other coatings
- Masking and preparing surfaces for coatings
- Cleaning and maintaining equipment by removing all traces of paint
- Repairing imperfections
- Performing exterior and interior painting of commercial buildings, drywall, steel, equipment, structures, etc. in a professional manor
- Preparing and protecting work surfaces with drop cloths and masking
- Keeping the work area clean
- Loading, unloading, preparing and cleaning of job site materials, and tools
- Providing quality work and taking corrective action for conditions that may affect job quality
- Setup and execution of tasks on scaffolding and ladders
- Communicating to foreman/supervisor if surface to be painted are not in proper condition to provide a quality finish
- Using materials and resources efficiently
