About The Position

The Professional Mover/Driver supports residential relocations, collections, deliveries, and installations involving personal belongings, artwork, and antiques for a logistics and warehousing organization in Brooklyn, New York. The role requires hands-on moving experience and box truck driving experience; previous art-handling experience is a plus. The position involves safely handling and transporting items while working under a supervisor’s direction. It is full-time.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Experience in moving, handling, packing, and safely transporting art and furniture.
Experience in logistics, warehousing, and moving.
Experience using hand trucks, pallet jacks, J-bars, dollies, and other logistics equipment.
Understanding of inventory processes.
Ability to learn proper handling of art, furniture, and antiquities.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
Effective communication skills, teamwork, and professional demeanor.
Ability to accurately complete detailed paperwork and condition reports.
Comfort working in a results-driven environment.
Ability to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead.
Ability to lift 50 lbs and maneuver heavy objects, including pushing or pulling 150 lbs on a dolly or cart.
Hands-on moving experience and box truck driving experience.

Responsibilities

Complete daily local collections and deliveries, including interstate trips as needed.
Manage on-site and field paperwork, including condition reports for goods.
Work with the Driver to keep the vehicle safe, clean, and ready for each day or trip, and verify required goods against the daily trip sheet or manifest.
Report daily trip manifest changes to the Dispatch Manager for verification before making modifications.
Properly handle artwork, fragile and artistic materials, antiques, and fine furniture.
Assist with installation projects.
Complete condition checks and reports as needed.
Pack artwork, antiquities, and fine furniture for transportation and storage.
Assist with loading and unloading company trucks.
Complete a manual timesheet when starting or ending the day at an off-site location and obtain the supervisor’s or manager’s signature within 24 hours of the start or end of the day.
