About The Position

Join a nationally-recognized litigation practice representing attorneys, law firms, accountants, insurance professionals, real estate professionals, architects, engineers, and other licensed professionals in malpractice, negligence, fiduciary duty, ethics, and professional responsibility matters. The team handles sophisticated litigation, regulatory proceedings, risk management counseling, and claims avoidance strategies for clients across a broad range of industries. This position offers an opportunity to assume substantial responsibility for case management, client relationships, litigation strategy, and business development while working alongside experienced trial lawyers in a collaborative national platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in professional liability, legal malpractice, insurance defense, or other complex civil litigation.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar and good standing required ; admission in other jurisdictions a plus.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation docket.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in developing client relationships and contributing to practice growth.

Responsibilities

  • Manage professional liability and malpractice matters through all phases of litigation.
  • Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, causation, damages, and risk exposure issues.
  • Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft and supervise the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and expert materials.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, insurers, and witnesses.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants across a variety of professional disciplines.
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to team development and training.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, client presentations, and industry events.
  • Support trial preparation and, where applicable, serve as first-chair or second-chair trial counsel.
