Prime Healthcare is actively seeking new members to join our corporate team! The Assistant General Counsel of Professional Liability must have substantial experience defending professional liability claims against physicians. This attorney manages a high volume of professional liability claims for hospitals across the system. This attorney must take a lead role in managing these cases as well as providing strategic guidance to key stakeholders on professional liability issues. This attorney must actively manage, supervise and coordinate outside counsel, direct strategy, and contain costs. This attorney must be highly experienced in the area of professional liability claims management.

Requirements

  • J.D. from ABA Accredited Law School
  • Member in Good Standing of State Bar of California.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of prior legal experience in law firm, public sector, and/or in-house position.
  • At least five (5) years of experience specifically focused on professional liability claims.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry, preferably with hospitals and professional liability claims against physicians.
  • Eligible for CA Registered In-House Counsel Status if not currently licensed in California.

Nice To Haves

  • Significant experience with hospital or healthcare risk management and exposure control is strongly preferred.
  • California licensed attorney preferred, but willing to consider highly qualified candidates not yet licensed in California as long as they are eligible for California registered in-house counsel status.
