About The Position

IXL Learning is seeking a Professional Learning Lead to manage a small team within California. This role involves leading, managing, and motivating a team of District Partnership Specialists and Professional Learning Specialists. The Lead will oversee professional development and district implementations across California, ensuring districts receive exceptional, consistent support to drive IXL usage and student growth. In addition to team management, the Lead will manage a small number of district accounts directly, supporting implementation and delivering professional development.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 2+ years of experience leading a professional development team
  • K-12 teaching experience
  • Experienced people manager who fosters collaboration, builds a positive team culture, and helps others grow
  • Exceptional presentation skills; comfortable presenting to teachers and administrators
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - dynamic, enthusiastic, upbeat individual who connects well with others and has a positive, collaborative attitude
  • Organized, methodical, and detail-oriented; ability to prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently, from start to finish
  • Self-starter and quick learner with a passion for improving education through technology
  • Strong analytical reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Must live close to a major airport
  • Must live in California

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and motivate a small team of District Partnership Specialists and Professional Learning Specialists.
  • Oversee professional development and district implementations across California.
  • Ensure districts receive exceptional, consistent support that drives IXL usage and student growth.
  • Own a small number of district accounts, working directly with districts to support their implementation and deliver professional development.
  • Stay informed on statewide initiatives impacting K-12 schools and districts within California, and ensure IXL implementations and professional development are aligned.
  • Create and maintain a positive culture that drives performance and outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to strategize and grow customer relationships.
  • Partner with district leaders in California to create and implement a professional development plan that supports a successful IXL implementation aligned to their goals.
  • Travel to support districts, provide professional development, and observe team members (up to 60% during back-to-school season, up to 40% remainder of the year).
  • Regularly observe professional development and provide actionable feedback to your team.
  • Analyze and use data to drive decision-making and strategize next steps.
