Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 4 to 8 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Active in professional associations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction and/or commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
  • Specialize in challenging projects outside of the treatment plant, including: the planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations, trenchless pipelines, pipeline seismic retrofits, deep wastewater pump stations and many other diverse projects.
  • Work on engineering planning and design projects and perform conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.
  • Develop civil engineering plans and specifications.
  • Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Assist project manager with the planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing of the work of the project team, including: environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers; drafters, technicians; technical experts; and subconsultants.
  • Assist project manager with meeting budget, schedule, and quality goals.
  • Review contractor submittmits for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluate requests for information as part of engineering services during construction.
