About The Position

American Buildings Company - IL is seeking a talented Professional Engineer (P.E.) to join their team in El Paso, IL. This role is crucial for designing innovative, safe, accurate, and cost-effective metal building systems that contribute to sales growth and profitability. As a P.E., you will be responsible for the comprehensive design of metal building systems, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality and performance. Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering/Architectural Engineering from an ABET Accredited school.
Proficient verbal and written communication in the English language.
Strong knowledge of structural building codes: IBC, AISC 360, AISC 341, AISC 358, ASCE7, AISI, etc.
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration in the United States with the ability to be licensed in other states as needed.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Nice To Haves

A background in Engineering in the Pre-Engineered Metal Building Industry.
Proficiency with some type of metal building design software package.

Responsibilities

Designing all aspects of metal building systems, including structural steel, wall and roof panels, secondary members, and stability bracing.
Developing safe and economical structures that fulfill project requirements while adhering to industry codes and standards.
Utilizing proprietary software for frame, secondary, bracing, crane, mezzanine, and panel analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance.
Collaborating with the Detailing Department and other team members to communicate design requirements effectively.
Reviewing and checking structural drawings for accuracy.
