Martin/Martin is seeking a mid-level structural engineer to join our rapidly growing Investigative Engineering Group in our San Mateo, California office. Our team specializes in developing and managing engineering services for the renovation, restoration, retrofit, and repair of existing structures. We support a broad range of projects including structural repairs, façade and access systems, building envelope assessments, non-destructive testing, and expert witness work. Martin/Martin has been based in Denver for more than 81 years. In this position, you will play a key role in our national expansion across the California region, helping establish and strengthen our presence in new markets. This role combines in-office design work with on-site evaluations. Candidates should bring strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, and the ability to draw informed conclusions from field investigations. Core responsibilities include mentoring staff, meeting with clients, preparing reports, and producing engineering deliverables aligned with project needs. A typical week may involve developing drawings, coordinating with project teams, performing engineering calculations, conducting site evaluations, managing construction administration activities, and participating in industry events. Throughout the project lifecycle, you will collaborate closely with building owners, architects, and contractors, building strong professional relationships and contributing to project success.
