About The Position

Miami Pet Concierge is hiring a dependable, caring Professional Dog Walker & Pet Sitter for ongoing part-time work in Miami. The company has provided professional in-home pet care since 2007, including dog walking, puppy visits, pet sitting, cat care, and overnight care. Prior professional pet care experience is not required; training and guidance are provided. The role suits someone who loves animals, enjoys active and independent work, and is reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to providing thoughtful care. Applicants must be able to commit for at least nine months. Work involves traveling between clients’ homes, providing individualized care, following detailed instructions, and sending owners timely updates and photos. Dog walks are generally 30–60 minutes. Assignments may also include puppy visits, feeding pets, refreshing water, cat care, and administering medication when required. The position is physically active and includes walking several miles, handling dogs of varying sizes and energy levels, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and working outdoors in Miami’s heat and humidity. Most recurring weekday dog walks are in Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and South Miami; the service area also includes Pinecrest, Dadeland, East Kendall, Palmetto Bay, and surrounding neighborhoods. Dog walking and puppy visits are primarily during weekday daytime hours. Pet sitting and cat care may involve early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on client needs. Consistent weekday daytime availability and dependable availability during summer and holiday periods are valued.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a reliable automobile and valid auto insurance.
Have a smartphone with a camera and data plan.
Communicate fluently in English.
Be physically capable of performing the described duties, including walking several miles, handling dogs, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and moving frequently.
Be comfortable working outdoors in Miami weather, including heat and humidity.
Be comfortable and safety-conscious around dogs of different sizes and personalities, including larger or stronger dogs that may pull; remain calm around unexpected distractions or challenging situations.
Be responsible, dependable, attentive to detail, and able to work independently while communicating clearly with teammates.
Be willing to learn, accept feedback, and follow care and safety instructions.
Commit to the position for at least nine months.
Have dependable availability, particularly during summer and holiday periods.

Nice To Haves

Prior professional pet care experience; it is helpful but not required.
Experience through personal pet ownership, animal rescue, veterinary care, dog daycare, or another animal-related setting.
Consistent weekday daytime availability, with interest in helping with other types of pet care when schedules permit.
Living in or near the service area.
Interest in recurring assignments and additional visits based on availability and client needs.

Responsibilities

Provide safe, attentive 30–60 minute dog walks for dogs of different sizes, breeds, energy levels, and personalities.
Use appropriate leash-handling techniques and follow individualized safety instructions, including for dogs that pull or react to distractions.
Provide puppy visits, feed pets, refresh water, and care for cats.
Administer medications when required.
Observe and report changes in pets’ health, behavior, or well-being.
Follow detailed care instructions and respect the security of clients’ homes.
Send timely, thoughtful visit updates and photos to pet owners.
Communicate with Miami Pet Concierge owners and teammates as needed.
Travel between client homes throughout assigned work.
Work assigned visits and provide other types of pet care when availability and client needs permit.
