About The Position

The Charleston, WV office of Modjeski and Masters, Inc is seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) with at least 5 years of Bridge Design Experience working on WVDOT projects. As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact with clients, become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridge's life cycle. Requirements

• Minimum BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited College or University
• A minimum of 5 years of related Bridge Design working on WVDOT projects
• Valid WV PE license
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Review and check structural design calculations
• Perform structural analysis and design of bridge components using analysis software
• Develop preliminary details using CAD software and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans.
• Provide information for design reports.
• Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing.
• Prepare project-related documents and internal correspondence.
• Perform and check quantity take-offs from contract plans.
• Review and check drawings.
• Use engineering analysis software such as LUSAS, AASHTOWare BrR, LEAP Bridge, MicroStation etc.
• Able to learn and correctly apply relevant design specifications, including: AASHTO, AREMA, AISC, ACI, etc
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including field inspection assignments
