About The Position

The professional bartender serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and food to patrons at counters and tables within the restaurant and outdoor patio. Their responsibilities include taking orders, mixing beverages, checking customer ages, maintaining bar supplies, and ensuring a positive customer experience. Bartending requires skills in mixology, customer service, and managing a busy, high-pressure environment.

Requirements

  • 2-years professional bartender at upscaled restaurant or hotel
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Skills in mixology
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to manage a busy, high-pressure environment

Responsibilities

  • Mixing and serving a variety of drinks, from beer and wine to cocktails and other beverages.
  • Greeting customers, taking orders, checking identification to verify age, and engaging with patrons.
  • Maintaining bar supplies, cleaning equipment and the bar area, and organizing attractive displays.
  • Stocking the bar with liquor, glassware, and other necessary items.
  • Addressing excessive drinking and taking steps to prevent problems, such as ordering taxis for intoxicated patrons.
  • Handling money and balancing cash receipts for the drinks served.
  • Presenting menus to customers, answering questions, and making suggestions regarding beverages, food and service.
  • Memorizing or writing orders on check, relaying order to kitchen and serving course from kitchen and service areas.
  • Observing guests to fulfill any additional requests and to perceive when meal has been completed, totaling bill and accepting payment from the patron.
  • Laddling soup, tossing salads, portioning pies and desserts, brewing coffee, performing other services as determined by the establishment's practices.
  • Clearing and resetting counters or tables at conclusion of each course or meal.
