About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in Greek Mythology (CLA2723 Section A00) for the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Arts, Department of Classics and Religious Studies. The course is an introduction to the myths and legends of the Greeks that have influenced Western literatures, using translated excerpts from authors such as Homer, Hesiod, and the Greek tragedians. The expected enrollment is 90 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The mode of instruction is in-person, with scheduled class times on Wednesdays from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM and Fridays from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025 rates, excluding vacation and statutory pay, subject to ratification of a new collective agreement). The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. Requirements

M.A. in Classics or equivalent.
Required expertise in the subject area of the course.
