About The Position

West Fraser's Pacific Inland Resources Division, in Smithers, BC is currently recruiting for Full Time - Entry Level Production. This role is part of our Production Department and involves working in various areas such as sorting, stacking, and piling lumber, handling and lifting materials, operating production equipment, assisting other processing workers, and performing routine maintenance and cleaning of sawmill equipment. The position also includes general labourer responsibilities, repetitive tasks, and strict adherence to company safety standards and safe work practices.

Requirements

• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
• Availability to perform day, afternoon, and night shifts as needed
• Good physical condition
• Ability to work repetitive tasks
• Ability to work as a positive team member
• Strong commitment to follow all safety guidelines and protocols, wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and taking precautions to maintain a safe work environment
• Reliable and excellent work ethic
• Desire to learn, grow and succeed
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Work in a variety of areas which may include sorting, stacking, and piling lumber
• Handling and lifting materials
• Operate production equipment as assigned
• Assist other processing workers
• Assist with the routine maintenance and cleaning of the sawmill equipment, ensuring their proper functioning and promptly reporting any malfunctions or issues to the team
• Other general labourer responsibilities
• Repetitive tasks
• Strict adherence to company safety standards and follow safe work practices such as lock-out, pre-job hazard assessments, etc.
• Stand for extended periods
