About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking for an Advanced Manufacturing Workcell Operator to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. This role is crucial for our world-class production of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components. The workcell operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining advanced manufacturing equipment, ensuring the quality and efficiency of production processes for high-performance parts. The company specializes in superalloys, machining, performance coatings, and hot isostatic pressing, contributing to the development of next-generation aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read product blueprints.
  • Has experience working with CNC’s.
  • Has experience milling high performance super alloys.
  • 1-3 years in an engineering or manufacturing environment including hands-on relevant experience evaluating automated equipment and processes and solving automated equipment issues.
  • Has worked in a production environment.
  • Familiar with TPM.
  • Good oral and written communications skills.
  • PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Experience using industrial controllers.
  • Good methodical aptitude for troubleshooting equipment and related issues.
  • Must be organized with the discipline to solve problems with permanent solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Run Water Jets, 4/5 Axis CNC’s, Rise and fall grinders, and Super polish machines.
  • Properly load and set up tooling (fixtures) and load castings into 6-point nests, verifying fitment.
  • Set up and operate vibratory equipment.
  • Utilize a profilometer to inspect surface finish per job instruction.
  • Sieve media per activity instruction to maintain optimal quality.
  • Perform 100% inspection as required per job instruction.
  • Properly set tools (end mills).
  • Identify fixture wear and tooling wear.
  • Follow product criteria to ensure quality castings.
  • Properly react to non-conforming castings by adjusting feed rates, speeds, and offsets.
  • Assist in the implementation of Alcoa/Howmet’s EHS value and policy statement and its accompanying principles.
  • Comply with all department, facility, Corporate and Regulatory EH&S regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Report all job-related illness and injuries.
  • Report all Safety, Health & Environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EH&S training.
