About The Position

Howmet Aerospace is currently looking a Utility Worker to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, New Jersey. The working hours for this Midnight Shift are 10PM-6AM. Training will occur on Day Shift (Monday - Friday 6a - 2p) and can last several months. This position will receive an hourly "shift premium" while assigned to an off-shift. The Utility worker is responsible for performing any hourly job (excluding non-fixtured cutting) supporting the department.

Requirements

  • Must have High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must pass visual eye exam and alloy verification certification.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
  • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Kalamazoo saw, wet saw, AW Bell, pull down saw and the water jet machines or any non-hand cut cutting equipment.
  • Perform MP identity marking on castings to maintain traceability.
  • Perform alloy verification procedure (after certification is obtained).
  • Keep scrap and spruing separate with proper identity.
  • Perform K/O procedure, KOH soak/Core removal procedure, Water Hone, and Sand Blast/ pressure blast (cleaning) of castings.
  • Maintain identity of castings through all operations.
  • Maintain records as required.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Follow all applicable safety rules.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.
  • Assist in the implementation of EHS Values and policy statements and accompanying principals.
  • Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Report all job related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
  • Report all safety, health and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Attend all EHS training.
