About The Position

The Marzetti Company is a manufacturer and seller of specialty food products, including well-known retail brands and foodservice supplies. Their mission is to make every meal better through high-quality, flavorful food, driven by a purpose to nourish growth. This role is for a Production Line Team Member, which can encompass various positions such as Inspector, Processor, Packer, and Palletizer. The individual may also be trained in job functions supporting food safety, such as monitoring critical control points, operating metal detectors, assisting with equipment cleaning, and verifying labels.

Requirements

At least 18-years of age
Ability to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Basic math skills include adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
Must be willing and able to learn skills necessary to accurately input data into computer, payroll, attendance, manufacturing, and inventory tracking systems.
Candidate must be able to pass both a background check and a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or General Education (GED) preferred.
Prior Manufacturing Experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

INSPECTOR: Carefully inspects raw materials, processed, and frozen precooked pasta at various stages to ensure quality standards are met. Verifies pasta is not undercooked, overcooked, misshapen, or thawed.
PROCESSOR: Shapes, stacks, and rolls cheese-filled lasagna rolls or sandwiches as they are conveyed to the freezer. Mixes and blends powder and granular ingredients for dry mixes. Mixes batches of dough for processing lines. Assists with daily sanitation of utensils, equipment, and the line.
PACKER: Ensures the correct product is in the right bag and final shipping container. Sorts, stacks, and orients product to fit properly in the finished case. Fills and weighs frozen pasta pieces to the appropriate case or tote weight according to customer requirements. Ensures all packages are properly coded before packing. Assists with daily sanitation of utensils, equipment, and the line.
PALLETIZER: Checks pallets for good condition before loading product. Verifies all box codes are complete, accurate, and legible, including line, shift, lot code, and product code. Stacks boxes on pallets using the correct configuration for the product being run. Obtains powered pallet truck qualification.
FOOD SAFETY AND QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: Applies food safety and quality principles as described in the Marzetti Corporate Food Safety and Quality Manual and internal policies, training, and procedures in all applicable aspects of departmental and job functions.
