About The Position

Metko, Inc., a local leader and family-owned business in the custom metal and tank fabrication industry is seeking to directly hire a full-time Production Worker to work in a Floater/Utility role for a 2nd shift opening in its New Holstein, WI, facility. ALL APPLICANTS SHOULD HAVE A STABLE WORK HISTORY, POSSESS A PROVEN WORK ATTENDANCE RECORD, AND HAVE GOOD PHYSICAL DEXTERITY. 2nd shift hours are from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday. PLEASE NOTE: Training may temporarily take place on 1st shift until competency is demonstrated. 1st shift hours are from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday. Starting pay will be commensurate with experience. If hired, you will be working for a well-established, family-owned custom metal fabrication facility with a strong foothold in the industry that is experiencing continued and steady growth.

  • Detail-oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, and/or tape measures) and blueprint drawings
  • Decent problem-solving skills
  • Basic math skills
  • Computer literate

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of any type of manufacturing and/or production experience is a plus
  • Prior experience with basic hand and power tools is desired
  • Ability to read basic manufacturing blueprints/schematics or have the ability to learn how to read manufacturing blueprints/schematics is a plus but not required
  • Previous experience working on a CNC machinery is a plus but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple areas of our production department by performing activities such as drilling, tapping, grinding, de-burring, and similar tasks on metal components
  • Operate basic manufacturing machines such as a CNC punch press or CNC rolling machine
  • Perform basic assembly duties for metal components
  • Work with basic manufacturing tools which could include: portable grinders, sanders, hand files, scrapers, pneumatic tools, and the like
  • Produce quality metal fabricated parts according to blueprints using allotted times and standards
  • Use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, calipers, tape measures) for quality assurance of parts
  • Follow instructions on work orders
  • Keep work area neat and organized
  • Complete documentation as required
