About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating reinforcement machines. This is a full-time, 3rd shift position. We are willing to train the right candidate(s).

Requirements

Production work preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Employee must pass pre-employment screening.

Responsibilities

Set up machines by doing deck changes (wire and yarn), tube changes, layer stock changes and cutting out finished product on a production reel.
Monitor machine as it is running to ensure a quality product.
Prioritize job duties based on information obtained from work leader/Value Stream team leader and/or braid set up sheet.
Communicate with material handler when needing supplies.
Communicate with Maintenance when needed.
Monitor the flow of production and check the schedule (via cards or Made to Order) to know what the current run is and what the future runs(s) will be.
Follow the process specification when setting up and running hose.
Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards and procedures and in a manner that eliminates unreasonable risk to health and the environment.
Notify management of unsafe conditions or practices, unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk.
Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to management immediately.
Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.
Maintain production schedules.
Work with groups in initiating and implementation of programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.
