About The Position

The Production Worker position is the next level position above Utility within the Refinery. Responsibilities include supplying materials to the production area, general housekeeping, receiving and maintaining materials for inventory, and assist operators in various production areas as needed. This role involves rotating shifts and requires adherence to safety, food safety, and environmental regulations, as well as Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The position also includes responsibilities such as operating a forklift, assisting with rail car movements, receiving and unloading ingredients, maintaining product rotation, operating a tape measure for inventory, obtaining production samples, and operating/maintaining the wastewater unit. Additionally, Production Workers may temporarily step up to an Operator III position, which includes operating all refinery unit operations and more critical quality control responsibilities. They may also step up to an Operator I position in the refinery loadout department.

Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer operation skills, i.e. use of “point and click” programs.
  • Forklift/Industrial Truck certification required.
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.
  • Must be able to do basic arithmetic.
  • Must be able to write clearly.
  • Must be able to communicate with other employees in a clear and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator.
  • Must be capable of bending, kneeling, working in confined spaces and from heights.
  • Successful completion of a background check.

  • Experience in food preparation or industrial setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere and enforce all personnel safety, food safety, and environmental rules, regulations, policies, and programs.
  • Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Supply materials to the production area.
  • Perform general housekeeping.
  • Receive and maintain materials for inventory.
  • Assist operators in various production areas as needed.
  • Operate a forklift/industrial truck.
  • Assist with rail car movements as a Ground Man.
  • Receive and unload incoming bulk and non-bulk ingredients and supplies.
  • Maintain product rotation of non-bulk ingredients in accordance to FIFO standards.
  • Operate a tape measure with a ball float for inventory purposes.
  • Obtain production samples from various sources for quality and environmental purposes.
  • Operate and maintain wastewater unit operation and all feed sources to unit operation for acceptable discharge within operating permits.
  • Temporarily step up to an Operator III position when needed.
  • Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to position.
  • Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping of assigned work areas.
  • Complete paperwork, inventory tracking/counting.
  • Operate and troubleshoot soy refining.
  • Operate and troubleshoot soy bleaching.
  • Operate and troubleshoot cotton bleaching.
  • Conduct production changes.
  • Temporarily step up to an Operator I position when needed in the refinery loadout department.
