About The Position

A production welder is a professional who uses various welding equipment and methods to join metal pieces or repair metal components.

Proven experience as a welder in a relevant field or industry
Must take a weld test to determine skill and placement.
Some knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties.
Ability to read and follow technical documents and instructions.
Skill in using various welding equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Attention to safety, detail, and accuracy.
Physical strength, stamina, and dexterity.
Minimum physical requirements include lifting moderate weight up to 50lbs, standing for long periods.

Professional certification (e.g., AWS welding certificate) or completion of an apprenticeship program is preferred but not required.
A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.

Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan layout and procedures.
Determining the appropriate weld settings and methods based on requirements and materials.
Setting up components for welding according to specifications and safety standards.
Operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead).
Aligning, clamping, and securing metal parts before welding.
Welding components using different techniques, such as TIG, MIG.
Inspecting welded surfaces to discover flaws and ensure quality.
Maintaining and cleaning welding equipment and tools.
