About The Position

At John Deere Paton, you will perform a variety of welding and other production operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, while supporting the production of world-class equipment. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following: Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes. Provide production operation support as needed in areas outside of welding (assembly, paint, forklift, fabrication, etc.). Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality. Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures. Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance. Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections. Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment. Use various types of tools and equipment to perform work - including but not limited to CNC / robotic welding equipment, safety equipment, manual arc welders, grinders, hoists, fixtures, and applicable hand and power tools. Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling. Assist and support other team members. Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job. Position will be primarily for 1st shift; Monday - Thursday (10 hrs) + potential overtime; including potential for Friday overtime, and rarely Saturday/Sundays. Successful applicants will be hired into a production resource pool to start where they will support production operations based on business need (weld, assembly, paint, forklift operations, or fabrication).

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. OR National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) OR At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience
  • Must have a weld certification (or equivalent) or at least 6 months of experience welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work 1st shift and potential overtime (including weekends).
