About The Position

As a Production Welder at John Deere Dubuque Works, you will perform a variety of welding operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, while supporting the production of world-class equipment. Job details are dependent on duties assigned but in general consist of the following:

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have at least one of the following: High School Diploma or G.E.D., National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), or at least 3 years of manufacturing work experience.
  • Must have a weld certification (or equivalent) or at least 6 months of experience welding in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and performing of repetitive actions.
  • Ability and willingness to work any shift and potential overtime (including weekends).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with MIG welding; including multi-pass welding
  • Previous experience operating a forklift or other powered industrial equipment

Responsibilities

  • Weld parts and sub-assemblies to specification using various welding processes.
  • Adjust voltage, heat, pressure, and speed to maintain quality.
  • Read and comprehend work instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Utilize manufacturing tools to record data and keep records for quality and maintenance.
  • Check results for conformance to specifications and make necessary corrections.
  • Operate power driven equipment such as forklifts and industrial trucks to move material, parts, and equipment.
  • Use various types of tools and equipment to perform work - including but not limited to CNC / robotic welding equipment, safety equipment, manual arc welders, grinders, hoists, fixtures, and applicable hand and power tools.
  • Lubricate, check, and clean work equipment and tooling.
  • Assist and support other team members.
  • Clean work area and perform other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
