About The Position

We're looking for a safety-minded, dependable team player who enjoys hands-on work in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate has mechanical aptitude, can operate or learn to operate heavy equipment, and is comfortable working 12-hour rotating shifts. They take pride in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient workplace, can work independently with minimal supervision, and are eager to learn all aspects of cement plant operations. Experience in manufacturing, mining, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance is a plus. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement are essential for success in this role. The Production Utility is an entry level position, and the individual will learn to monitor and maintain inventory levels of all raw materials using reclaimers and loaders.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
Mechanical aptitude and basic mechanical/electrical knowledge.
Experience operating or learning to operate heavy equipment, including loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and bobcats.
Ability to troubleshoot problems, follow instructions, and work independently.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, safety data sheets, and operating procedures.
Basic math skills and strong attention to safety.
Physically capable of lifting, climbing, bending, kneeling, and working in an industrial environment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in manufacturing, mining, construction, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance is a plus.
Industrial, manufacturing, construction, mining, or heavy equipment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintain all raw materials bin levels.
Performs clean-up and housekeeping functions as assigned.
Maintains visual surveillance of mobile equipment and process and takes remedial action and/or reports conditions to the Control Room Operator or Supervisor that may be detrimental to the safety of the personnel, equipment, process or environment.
Will maintain a safe working environment, adhere to safety policies and practices, perform daily housekeeping of assigned area, perform daily workplace inspections, adhere to plant policies and proper use of plant radios.
Be familiar with MSHA safety rules, safety procedures for plant mobile equipment, lockout/tagout policy, confined space permit policy, hot work policy, emergency response plan, arc flash/shock and burn protection, proper containment and disposal process (via Waste Management Plan) for lubricants, paints/solvents and other environmentally sensitive materials.
Ensure quality of work performed, participate in continuous improvement system, observe and promote best practices, good time management and be able to troubleshoot/analyze root cause failure.
Will work where and when needed as directed by plant supervisory personnel to meet plant needs.
