The ideal candidate must be able to set up test apparatus and conducts tests of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences. Lays out and assembles units for production equipment according to designs and specifications. Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed. Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches. Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components as directed. Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems is seeking a Production Test Technician – Level 2 to join our team in San Diego, CA. This position 1st shift, 100% onsite, and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED with an additional 2 or more years of relevant experience with test of complex components, assemblies, devices, filters, circuits and systems
  • Must have experience with electronics principles.
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • RF test experience or Filter tuning or laser welding
  • Experience with electrical and/or RF test equipment

Responsibilities

  • Determining the methods and techniques for effectively monitoring various tests and measuring electrical performance on complex systems
  • Selection, set up, calibration and operation of complex and special equipment and facilities over a broad spectrum of technologies
  • Verification and validation of product and paperwork configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and calibration
  • Measuring, collecting and recording of electrical performance data including analysis and evaluation of the data, experimental models, resultant data, etc. that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function, preparing accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data
  • Programming and verification of devices
  • Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas
  • Conducts test of production assemblies and units following methods, procedures, standards, and sequences.
  • Uses hand and small power tools, and various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.
  • Must be capable of adapting to changing assignments and requirements.
