Production Test Technician
About The Position
Electron Microscopy Technologies (EMT) is the world leading manufacturer of high-quality instrumentation and software for imaging and analysis in TEM and SEM applications. The Gatan and EDAX names are recognized and respected throughout the worldwide scientific community and has been synonymous with high quality products and the industry’s leading technology. We are currently seeking a talented Production Technician who will be responsible for the assembly, testing and troubleshooting associated with electronic and mechanical systems and components for our SEM and TEM product lines. General responsibilities include the assembly of small, precision mechanical assemblies in a low volume production environment. Troubleshooting and product testing is required as well. Interaction with engineering personnel to improve product quality and performance and development of test procedures for new and existing products.
Requirements

- At least 2-4 years related technical and/or industry experience with a mechanical aptitude required.
Nice To Haves
- Associates degree or higher in an Engineering discipline strongly preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and Lean manufacturing a plus.
Responsibilities
- Assembly of small, precision mechanical assemblies in a low volume production environment.
- Troubleshooting and product testing.
- Interaction with engineering personnel to improve product quality and performance.
- Development of test procedures for new and existing products.
- Use precision test equipment to test and troubleshoot (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, Data acquisition modules, etc.).
- Work with manufacturing engineering to release new products, and resolve issues that may arise.
- Read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Solder and do rework on assemblies.
- Provide training to others on test procedures.
- Communicate clearly to other departments regarding issues.
