About The Position

The Production Test Operator provides production support for automated test equipment (ATE) final test operations and leads day-to-day operations of the automated IC testing and tape-and-reel production line for custom customer orders and engineering samples. The role is responsible for line execution, yield tracking, and order fulfillment. The employer notes that candidates do not need to meet every job requirement to be qualified. The position involves setting up and running production machinery, loading devices into automated test handlers, monitoring equipment performance, and performing basic cleaning and jam-clearing tasks. It also includes visual inspection of device and package features, recording lot yields and test data in MES/ERP systems, and alerting quality and product engineers to low-yield lots.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
0–2 years of experience in automated electronics or semiconductor back-end manufacturing.
Working knowledge of MES software, inventory tracking systems such as ERP/SAP, and basic MS Excel for production logs.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate and maintain automated test equipment and handlers.
Ability to follow procedures and maintain accurate production records.
Detail-oriented, quality-focused, dependable, and accountable for meeting production objectives.
Teamwork, communication, and shift handoff skills.

Nice To Haves

Associate degree.
Knowledge of pick-and-place handlers, tape-and-reel sealers, label printers, and vacuum sealers.

Responsibilities

Set up and run production machinery, including loading ATE test handlers.
Load device trays or tubes into automated test handlers.
Monitor jam rates, perform basic contactor cleaning, and clear mechanical jams to maintain machine throughput.
Inspect die surfaces, bond wires, and package leads under optical microscopes for cracks, chip-outs, or solder bridging.
Record pass/fail yields, scrap counts, and test execution data in MES/ERP tracking software.
Flag low-yield lots to quality and product engineers.
Support line execution, yield tracking, and fulfillment of customer orders and engineering samples.
