We are currently hiring Production Technicians for Fly-In/Fly-Out (FIFO) roles at our Firebag site. If you’re a safety champion with a continuous improvement mindset, we want to hear from you. In this role, you’ll play a key part in Suncor’s Conduct of Safe Operations (CoSO), helping ensure consistent standards for safety and reliability 24/7.
Requirements
- Five years of experience in heavy oil, water treatment or steam generation
- 3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (ABSA certified)
- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Responsibilities
- Follow all operating processes and procedures during operations to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and the environment
- Perform plant operation duties for smooth and efficient operations and ensure shift changes are well communicated
- Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
- Perform routine operating tasks such as monitoring levels, pressures, and temperatures
- Perform basic troubleshooting and initiate repairs or requests for repairs when required
- Prepare equipment and systems for maintenance
