About The Position

Midwest Staffing is hiring a reliable and detail-oriented Production Technician to support manufacturing operations. This role is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude and experience in a GMP or production environment who enjoys working hands-on with equipment. The position involves setting up, changing over, troubleshooting, and operating production equipment to ensure production output meets daily schedules and quality standards. The technician will also coordinate and manage change parts, maintain organized production areas, support a continuous improvement environment, and complete required documentation accurately.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3–5 years of manufacturing experience preferred (high-quality packaging lines a plus)
  • 1–3 years of experience in equipment setup, maintenance, or repair preferred
  • Strong mechanical and/or electromechanical skills
  • Experience working with conveyors or automated systems is a plus
  • Familiarity with machine interfaces (HMI) or ability to learn
  • Comfortable using standard and metric hand tools
  • Basic understanding of fasteners and mechanical components
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Solid communication skills (reading and writing required)
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Knowledge of good documentation practices

Nice To Haves

  • high-speed packaging lines a plus
  • Experience working with conveyors or automated systems is a plus
  • Vo-tech or technical training in mechanics, machine repair, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Set up, change over, troubleshoot, and operate production equipment
  • Ensure production output meets daily schedules and quality standards
  • Coordinate and manage change parts needed for production runs
  • Maintain organized and efficient production areas
  • Support a continuous improvement (“lean”) environment
  • Complete required documentation accurately
