About The Position

The Production Technician supports the safe, efficient, and consistent production of Tofurky products. This role includes tasks across sealing, peeling, mixing/cooking, packaging, and general production support. Responsibilities include operating and monitoring equipment, handling materials, ensuring food safety and quality, maintaining accurate documentation, and keeping work areas clean and safe.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, or crouch for extended periods.
Must safely lift/move up to 45 lbs. regularly.
Comfortable working in wet, noisy, or varied temperature environments.
Ability to use ladders, work in tight spaces, and move equipment as needed.
Thoroughness – Attention to detail in production and documentation.
Teamwork Orientation – Ability to work effectively with others.
Punctuality & Reliability – Consistent attendance and timeliness.
Basic reading, oral, and written communication skills.
Ability to follow instructions and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Prior sanitation, janitorial, or food processing experience.
Experience working with cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate, monitor, start up, and shut down production equipment (mixers, ovens, forming equipment, packaging machines, conveyors, etc.).
Perform production activities include: Seal: Remove casing, slicing, move racks, set up Multivac, handle intermediate products. Peel/seal: Remove casings, move racks, wash totes, handle intermediate products. Mix/Cook: Weigh ingredients, mix and form raw materials, bake/cook products. Packaging: Handle, sleeve/bag, carton, pack, palletize, and X-ray products.
Attach appropriate labels, tags, and lot/batch numbers to products and packages.
Perform quality checks and complete all required processing and quality documentation.
Load/unload raw materials and finished goods.
Follow all safety rules, including PPE use, chemical handling, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Maintain compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment (sweeping, mopping, cleaning machinery, scraping waste, washing equipment).
Assist with general production and support tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor.
