About The Position
This position is responsible for promoting a safe working environment and producing finished goods that meet or exceed customer requirements and specifications. The role involves understanding and adhering to safety policies, optimizing production cycle times, and collaborating with the maintenance department to ensure production parameters are met. The technician will also be responsible for documenting production data, maintaining optimal machine cycles, and performing changeovers related to various production aspects. Additionally, the role requires acquiring skills to operate, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing equipment, as well as assisting with mold cleanup, setup, and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities
- Promote a safe working environment
- Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures to prevent injury to self and co-workers
- Produce finished goods that meet or exceed customer requirements and specifications at optimum cycle times for efficient throughput
- Repair and/or provide information to the maintenance department to verify that production parameters are being met and the tabulation of variable parameters of gram weight, S-1 dimensions, wall distribution, leak detection, and drop testing
- Provide information for shift notes, problems encountered, corrective actions taken, machine setting readings all on provided forms
- Maintain best cycle, blow, exhaust and dry cycle times while maintaining effective throughput of regrind material
- Perform delegated duties for production change-overs related to labels, sleeves, weights, color, resin, and box on all blow molding equipment and all production support equipment, auxiliary equipment
- Acquire the skills and knowledge to efficiently operate, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the manufacturing equipment of Silgan Plastics
- Provide labor for mold clean up, set up and minor preventative maintenance as directed by the Supervisor
- Other duties as assigned
