3rd Shift Production Technician -Wadsworth
About The Position
The Production Technician is responsible for efficiently and responsibly cutting, bagging, and stacking feedstocks into appropriate sizes while minimizing scrap rubber trimmings. This role involves operating guillotine controls, ensuring material is cut to specified sizes/weights, and identifying groups as outlined on mixing instructions. The technician must also perform regular checks on the metal detector, visually inspect all material for contamination, and maintain a clean and organized work area. This position requires adherence to all safety and environmental regulations, company standards, and the RMA 7S for Success standards.
Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and walk.
- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Will occasionally climb a ladder.
Nice To Haves
- High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Forklift experience/license preferred.
- Prior experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate all guillotine controls.
- Cut material to specified sizes/weights and identify groups as outlined on mixing instructions.
- Check the metal detector at the beginning of each shift and after lunch period.
- Visually check all material while cutting and stacking for any contamination.
- Neatly stack cut material appropriately using poly between layers to prevent sticking.
- Stack waste skids according to size and stack cardboard neatly to go to cardboard baler.
- Check to ensure all containers are cleaned before using.
- Check to ensure all old tickets and markings are removed from the containers before using them.
- Assist in the timely and thorough cleanup during changeovers and shutdowns.
- Keep the area and machinery clean.
- Inform Maintenance of any issues or concerns with equipment.
- Notify Team Leader of any problems or concerns.
- Follow Personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures.
- Safeguard company property.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Maintain company safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
- Apply the RMA 7S for Success standards to work area and all tasks.
- Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager, Quality Manager and Team Leader.
