About The Position

The Production Technician will be responsible for making all production batches. They will be required to operate in a safe manner at all times. Must be organized and able to follow detailed standard operating procedures and communicate effectively. The incumbent will be required to move large totes, bins, and storage containers using proper lifting tools and techniques. Requirements

  • High school diploma or higher.
  • 1-5 years of chemical production experience.
  • 1-5 years experience welding/fabrication.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Requires overall knowledge of reactors, instruments, filters, pumps, forklifts, scales, and standard test equipment and plant processes.
  • Familiarity with OSHA and EPA regulations as they apply to chemical plant operations; Knowledge of DOT Hazardous Material Regulations
  • Knowledge and familiarity with office equipment including copiers, fax, and scan equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a detailed environment with little to no direct supervision.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Use of Microsoft Office products, especially Microsoft Word and Excel®.
  • Incumbent is subject to a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Capable of making all production batches in either the Cationic or Anionic production areas.
  • Manufactures batches based on the production schedule.
  • Maintains accurate records of batch manufacture.
  • Follows lab instructions on batch adjustments.
  • Reports/documents any process or equipment problems (via work orders, incident reports, etc). Takes equipment/processes out of service as required.
  • Follows all company requirements for properly labeling in-process as well as finished goods containers.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Participates during inventory activities.
  • Unloads or loads bulk tanker trucks.
  • Reports all accidents and spills to the Production Supervisor.
  • Must be able to comply with all OSHA, EPA, and DOT compliance policies.
  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
