Production Technician (Machine Operator)
About The Position
H&A Farms is a family-owned, multigenerational agricultural business with farming and packing operations throughout Florida and Georgia. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Production Technician to join our blueberry packing house team. The Production Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and adjusting packing-line equipment to help keep production running safely, efficiently, and consistently. This hands-on position focuses on machine performance, product flow, troubleshooting, and minimizing downtime while maintaining product quality and food-safety standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating machinery in a production, manufacturing, or packing environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and operational issues.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in blueberry, produce, or food-packing operations is preferred.
- Familiarity with packing-line equipment is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate packing-line equipment, including sorters, conveyors, fillers, sealers, and labeling machines.
- Perform equipment startup and shutdown procedures and monitor machinery throughout production.
- Monitor the flow of blueberries and adjust machine settings based on fruit size and packing requirements.
- Help maintain consistent production throughput and minimize equipment downtime.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical and operational issues.
- Monitor product output to ensure proper weight, sealing, and labeling.
- Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance.
- Keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
- Identify and promptly report equipment or maintenance concerns.
- Follow company food-safety, quality, and workplace-safety requirements.
- Communicate equipment issues, production concerns, and updates to supervisors.
