About The Position

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Production Technician to join our advanced manufacturing team. Our facility specializes in advanced metal powder fusing, firing and hardening in furnaces, and applying coatings using advanced technologies. In this role, you will cross-train and support two critical processes within our production cycle: coating preparation/inspection and furnace operation. You won't be expected to have experience with our specific equipment on day one. We are looking for someone who is highly coachable, has strong fundamentals in manufacturing, and is eager to learn and improve every day. If you have good mechanical aptitude, an understanding of tight tolerances, a strong work ethic, and the ability to thrive in a detail-oriented environment, we have a place for you to build your career.

  • Proven ability to work with tight tolerances, utilize visual inspection equipment (like microscopes), and perform rigorous quality checks.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and arrange various styles of inserts into predetermined fixturing to build heats for the coating furnaces, ensuring all critical areas are properly exposed for a quality product.
  • Perform inspections and verify the quantity of incoming products prior to coating. Assure product is processed according to proper routings and specifications.
  • Inspect coated carbide inserts using the unaided eye and microscopes. Verify that the product and style match the route card, and accurately record all necessary information.
  • Originate documentation to accompany heats through the Coating Focused Factory. Transfer completed inserts to the next work center.
  • Load and unload furnaces. Monitor computerized controls to manage temperatures, pressures, chemical flow rates, and gas flow rates to critical process parameters. Enter quality data by furnace and heat results, and monitor graph outputs.
  • Ensure the integrity of vacuum systems by conducting vacuum leak checks and performing periodic preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot furnace problems and rebuild or replace furnace components as needed.
  • Ensure adequate gas and chemical levels for correct operations according to procedure. Replace tanks as needed. Set up and separate product.
